New for 2013: 12.5% more higher ed music critics!

The Higher Ed Music Experts collective has grown, with two new critics joining our fellowship for the 2013 year-end season.

This brings our total of active critics to a record high of 18. That's a 12.5 percent increase over last year's group. (Assuming I did the math right. Dammit, Jim, I'm a PR guy, not a statistician!)

Anyway. Say hello to the Eric/k/s:

  • Eric Olsen (@eolsencreative on the Twitter), representing the fightin' Flyers of Lewis University! Eric comes with impressive credentials: 20+ years as a drummer (Glenn Kotche of Wilco was his teacher), 12 years of guitar, a worship leader, former film/music critic at Bradley U. He really classes up the joint a bit.
  • Erik Westra (@erikwestra), a content strategy guy at Brain Traffic, who comes highly recommended by resident tastemaker Ron Bronson. Ron met Erik at the recent ConfabEDU event, where they undoubtedly discussed obscure bands the rest of us have never heard of over tea. So, yes, add another tastemaker to our merry band.

Eric and Erik will be adding their picks to this year's selection of the best albums. It's coming soon, so stay tuned.
